Paulie Wegman, always with us in spirit.

Hey everybody – Summer is finally here and so are some great times.

The Empty Can Band will be performing outside at Millennium Park in downtown Aurora on Wednesday, June 21st and 7 PM.  This will preview our performance on Saturday, June 24th at 8:30 p.m. at Two Brothers Roundhouse – also planned for outside – weather permitting.  Founding Empty Can, JD Klatt will be returning on bass for the Sat. June 24th performance to fill in for Chevy.  So celebrate with us!  But there’s plenty of fun leading up to these gigs…

I (Dave) plan on hanging at the Chicago Blues Fest this Friday afternoon (June 9th) with the usual suspects.  The Fest is moved to the Pritzker Pavilion this year, so it should be interesting. Great line-up this year at the COBF, kudos to the City of Chicago for providing a boost.

Blues & Roots on Water Street starts at 4:30 p.m. this Saturday, June 10th at Kiss the Sky and Water Street Studios.  A great line-up is planned featuring locals and not-so locals including Noah Gabriel (the Arcade is rumored to be fueling him), Leadfoot Band, Ladies of Leland, Jonas Friddle and Wayne Baker Brooks.  I’ll be emceeing the show.  For more details, visit the Fox Valley Music Foundation website:

Blues on the Fox has another killer lineup on Friday June 16th and Saturday June 17th.  I’ll be emceeing that show as well.  Mavis Staples, Johnny Lang, Elvin Bishop, Shemekia Copeland, Devon Allman, Guy King will be featured at RiverEdge Park in Aurora –

The Blues on the Fox Preservation Band (includes some Empty Canners) will be performing on Hambone’s Blues Party on WDCB on Thursday, June 15th at 10 PM. to preview the Blues on the Fox Festival.

So let’s have a great June everybody!  Lot’s to celebrate!  Hope to see you soon!
